Description

Leas Farmhouse is probably late 17th or early 18th century, situated in Hook Norton. It is a farmhouse constructed of coursed ironstone rubble, with a Welsh slate roof and brick end stacks. The building follows a three-unit plan. The two storeys are characterised by three 3-light wooden casements to the first floor, featuring chamfered and stopped wooden lintels. The central entrance has a panelled door with an overlight, set beneath a wooden lintel, and a 20th-century hood. There are also two 3-light ground-floor windows. A single-storey kitchen extension is located on the left, with a catslide roof and a brick end stack. This extension features a plank door with a heavy wooden frame and a 3-light wooden casement to the left of the door, both sharing a continuous wooden lintel. At the rear, a gabled dormer is flush with the main wall and incorporates a 2-light casement. The interior retains stop-chamfered beams, plank doors, and a bressumer to the room to the left of the main entrance. The building was formerly known as Leys Farm.
