Description
Stead and Simpson is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the 18th century, with alterations made to the ground floor in the 20th century. The building is finished in stucco and has three storeys with a three-window range. The ground floor features a 20th-century shop front. On the first floor, there are three sash windows with keystoned stone surrounds, stone sills, and glazing bars arranged in a three-pane width. The second floor has three smaller sash windows that are similar in style. There is a cornice between the first and second floors, flanked by pilasters, and a parapet at the top. The interior was remodelled in the 20th century.
