Description
This garden wall, located approximately 10 metres to the south of The Grange, is likely from the late 17th century and may include features from the 15th century. It is constructed from coursed marlstone rubble with some ashlar dressings. The wall stands about 2 metres high and stretches approximately 65 metres, separating the garden of The Grange from the churchyard. The top of the wall features flat stone-and-mortar coping that rises over a doorway with a chamfered stone surround. At the eastern end, near the churchyard gateway, there is a section of an earlier, lower wall, about 2 metres long, which has a crenellated coping and has been incorporated into the structure. This wall is included for its group value.
