Description
Number 12 and 14 (Pinfold) is a house that has been divided into two dwellings. It dates from the 17th century, with extensions from the 18th century and alterations made in the 20th century. The building is constructed from coursed marlstone rubble with wooden lintels and features thatch and shingle roofs with brick stacks. It has an L-shaped plan and is one storey plus an attic. The long thatched main range at the rear, which is now subdivided, has mostly renewed windows and dormers, including one very tall window, but it retains a 3-light ovolo-moulded wood-mullioned window. The shingle-roofed wing facing Dog Close is likely from the 18th century; it has an altered roofline and some 20th-century casements, but it retains a 3-light 18th-century casement and an ancient 2-light casement at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
