Description
Brunstone is a house dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is built of coursed squared marlstone with ashlar dressings and marlstone rubble, topped with a plain-tile roof and brick gable stacks. The house has a central-stair plan with a short rear wing and stands two storeys tall. The front features a regular three-window arrangement, with ashlar quoins, lintels, and a storey band. There is a six-panel central door beneath a flat canopy, a 16-pane sash window to the left, and a canted bay window to the right. The first floor has 12-pane sashes and displays a "Farmers Fire and Life" insurance plaque. The sides and rear of the house are made of rubble, and the lower rear wing extends from the right. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
