Description
Northfield Farmhouse, barn, and stable range, located approximately 30 meters to the northeast, date from the mid-18th century. The structures are built from limestone rubble and feature a corrugated-asbestos roof. The barn consists of five bays and includes a wide central porch with full-height doors on opposite sides. The walls have some blocked slits, and the gable of the porch is weatherboarded. The roof slopes down at the sides of the porch. The stable range to the left has openings with wood lintels. Inside, the barn has a butt-purlin roof with through tenons, and the trusses include ties, collars, and raking struts. This site is included for its group value and was formerly part of the Water Eaton Estate.
