Description
Middle Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early to mid 18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features Welsh-slate roofs with rubble and brick gable stacks. The building has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys plus an attic. The front has four windows, with the doorway located to the right of centre, and it includes 12-pane sash windows; the ground-floor openings have flat arches. The roof is adorned with two gabled roof dormers, a stone-based gable stack on the right, and a stone stack rising from a large chimney projection on the left.
To the left, there is a 19th-century single-storey extension that features a crenellated bay window. On the right, a single-storey range includes a canted bay window from the 18th century in its end wall. The double-gabled rear of the main range has additional sash windows, and a single-storey dairy range extends from the rear. The interior has not been inspected. Middle Farmhouse is part of the Water Eaton Estate.
