Description
Wykham Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with later alterations. It is constructed from finely jointed ironstone ashlar and features a steeply pitched tile roof with brick end stacks on stone bases. The building has a three-unit plan and a single-storey extension to the right, standing two storeys plus an attic high, with a three-window range.
The off-centre entrance on the left has a panelled door with a hood above it. To the left of the doorway is a tall three-light window with lead cames, and to the right are two similar two-light windows. On the far right, there is a 20th-century window. The first floor contains two 20th-century windows, a small rectangular window, and a tall two-light window with lead cames. All windows are topped with wood lintels, and there are three gabled roof dormers.
At the rear, there is an earlier 17th-century range with a steeply pitched stone slate roof and a three-light wood-mullioned window. The extension to the right is made of regular coursed ironstone rubble and has a steeply pitched stone slate roof laid in diminishing courses, with a brick end stack and two- and three-light 20th-century windows featuring wood lintels. The interior has not been inspected.
