Description
The Wykham Arms Public House is a building that may have originally been a farmhouse, dating from the 17th century with later alterations. It is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble and features a steeply pitched thatched roof, with brick ridge and end stacks. The layout consists of a three-unit plan with a rear range that forms an L-shape, and the building is two storeys high with a four-window range. The entrance, located to the right, has a 20th-century door with an overlight and a wooden lintel. On the ground floor, there are three two-light wooden casements, each with wooden lintels. The first floor includes a half-dormer window with a small casement and three small two-light casements, most of which have lead cames and wrought-iron fasteners. Inside, there is a wide inglenook fireplace featuring a chamfered bressumer, along with stop-chamfered beams and stop-chamfered joists.
