Description
Barndon Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble with timber lintels and some squared quoins, topped with a plain-tile roof featuring brick gable stacks. The building has a T-plan layout and stands two storeys plus an attic. The symmetrical front has three windows and a central doorway, which is sheltered by a flat canopy supported by shaped brackets. Above the doorway is a 12-pane sash window, while the outer bays feature wider 12-pane sashes. All the sash windows are from the 19th century, and all the lintels are stop-chamfered. At the back, there is a two-unit wing that is slightly lower and has irregularly placed casement windows. The interior has not been inspected. Barndon Farmhouse was formerly part of the Water Eaton Estate.
