Description
Thatched House is a building that originally comprised two cottages, now combined into one house. It dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. The structure is built of squared coursed limestone and features a steeply pitched thatched roof with brick stacks at each end. The house has two storeys and a six-window range. There are two entrances on the left and right sides, each with 20th-century doors and wooden lintels, while the left entrance is topped with a thatched hood. The ground floor includes four 20th-century windows with original wooden lintels, and the first floor has six similar windows. Inside, there is an inglenook fireplace and a kitchen fireplace that were refronted in the 19th century. The interior also features a straight flight stair and a stud partition at the top of the stair, along with chamfered beams.
