Description

Glebe House is a house dating from the late 18th or early 19th century, with alterations and additions made in the 20th century. It is built of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern. The roof is covered in old tiles, and there is a brick end stack. The house follows a central-staircase plan and has two storeys plus an attic. The front features a three-window arrangement. The central entrance has a six-panelled door, a window above it, and a cambered brick arch. Flanking the entrance are tripartite sash windows, the one on the left being hornless. A brick flat arch sits above the door on the right, and a cambered brick head above it on the left. The first floor has two tripartite sash windows with horns and cambered brick heads, and a central blocked sash with a cambered brick head. A flat band runs along the first floor, and a brick eaves band is present. There are two three-light cellar windows. The left gable has a single-light metal casement in a wooden frame with leaded crown glass. A brick plinth is visible at the base of the walls. A single-storey service addition is located on the right side of the house, constructed of red brick with glazed headers in a Flemish bond pattern and covered with an old-tile roof. It also features a brick end stack. Steps lead to the entrance on the left, which has a plank door within a wooden frame and a brick flat arch. A three-light wooden casement on the right has a brick flat arch. The interior has not been inspected. The building is included on the list for its group value.
