Description
Lower Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid to late 17th century and the mid 19th century. It is constructed of squared coursed lias stone and features a plain tile roof from the 19th century. The building originally had a three-unit plan and consists of two storeys with an attic.
The facade has a three-window arrangement on the ground floor, featuring four-light stone mullion windows with hood moulds and square label stops. The first floor has similar three-light stone mullion windows. To the right of the centre, there is a 20th-century door beneath a wood lintel, which also has a hood mould with square label stops above it.
The left gable displays an ashlar gable parapet and has a 7-light, two-storey, square stone mullion bay window with a lean-to roof, likely added in the 19th century. Above this bay window, there is a blocked three-light stone mullion attic window from the 17th century. The right gable has been rebuilt in brick during the 19th century and has 19th-century buildings attached to it. The interior has not been inspected.
