Description

Beeches is a house dating from around 1800. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with some ashlar dressings and wooden lintels, and has a Welsh slate roof with brick gable stacks. The house follows a double-depth plan and has two storeys plus a semi-basement. The symmetrical three-window front, which faces away from the road, features a central four-panel door within an open wooden Gothick porch. It has twelve-pane sash windows; those on the first floor have lintels, while the ground floor windows have ashlar flat arches. Sunken casements are present in the semi-basement. The rear elevation features further sash windows with lintels. The roof is shallow-pitched. Inside, a dogleg staircase includes stick balusters and turned newels, and panelled shutters are also present.
