Description
Ivy House is a house from the mid-18th century, with some parts possibly dating earlier. It is built from marlstone ashlar and features a Stonesfield-slate roof with an ashlar-and-brick end stack. The house has a two-unit plan with a rear wing and stands two storeys tall plus an attic. The front has two windows and includes a chamfered plinth and a storey band. The entrance is located in the second bay and consists of a six-panel door with a lattice overlight and a flat canopy supported by scroll brackets. There is an additional ground-floor window to the left of the door. The windows have 12-pane sashes set beneath flat arches, which are linked by a band of darker stone. The steep-pitched roof features two gabled roof dormers and an ashlar double stack on the left that has been built up in brick. Inside, there are 18th-century plaster cornices, joinery, and a fireplace.
