Description
Tuckers is a mid-18th century house located on the east side of Deddington Market Place. It is constructed of ashlar and coursed squared marlstone, with ashlar dressings, and has Welsh-slate and Stonesfield-slate roofs. The house is arranged in an L-shaped plan, comprising two distinct builds. The main range is taller, constructed of ashlar, and has a chamfered plinth and storey band. It features three 12-pane sashes at the first floor, and at ground floor a wider bowed 16-pane sash, a service door, and the main entrance, which is sheltered by a flat canopy supported on scrolled brackets. The steep-pitched roof features two dormers and a brick stack to the left gable. A lower, rubble rear range, set back to the left, has a three-window front with a plinth, storey band, and tall windows with projecting keyblocks, but now features 20th-century windows. The interior has not been inspected. A shop range, projecting from the right of the main range and extending to the rear, is not of special architectural interest.
