Description

Merton Croft is a house, originally two dwellings, dating to the late 17th and early 18th centuries. It is constructed of colourwashed limestone rubble with wooden lintels, and features a thatched roof along with plain-tile sections and brick gable stacks. The house follows a three-unit plan with a later addition. It has one storey and an attic. The front of the thatched main range has four windows, with a central doorway that may have replaced a window. To the right are two 3-light casement windows, and to the left are casement windows of 3 and 2 lights; the 2-light window was probably originally a doorway. A tiled bay to the left has smaller windows. The interior has not been inspected.
