SP6219 BLACKTHORN LOWER ROAD (West side)

17/24 Barn approx. 40m. to NW of Newhouse Farmhouse (not included)

GV II

Barn and cowhouse. Late C17/early C18. Limestone rubble and weatherboarded timber framing; thatch roof. 3-bay barn with cowhouse bay. Front has double doors to right of centre and a stable door in the left bay. Rear of barn bays is timber framed with smaller double doors. Half-hipped roof. Interior: butt purlins with through tenons; barn trusses have collars, ties and curved braces from the rear posts; no dividing wall.
