Description

Fir Tree Farmhouse is a 17th and early 18th century farmhouse constructed of coursed limestone rubble with wooden lintels and a plain-tile roof, featuring brick gable stacks. The building follows a T-plan. It has two storeys plus attics, and a four-window front. A doorway is located to the right of centre, and a three-light casement window is positioned to its right; the remaining two ground-floor windows and all first-floor windows are tall, two-light casements. The left gable wall includes a large chimney projection. A single-storey service range extends to the right. The interior, which was not inspected, is said to contain a good 17th century staircase with three flights, turned balusters, a moulded handrail, and diamond-shaped finials.
