Description
The Homestead is a house dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared marlstone with wooden lintels and features a corrugated-iron roof with a brick ridge stack. The building has a two-unit lobby-entry plan along with a service bay and stands two storeys high plus an attic.
The front of the house has two windows and displays leaded 3-light casements, which are larger on the ground floor. There is a central 6-panel door aligned with the stack, and to the right of the door on the first floor, there is a very small window. The steep-pitched roof is adorned with gable parapets. The left end wall contains windows on both upper floors, although the gable window is now blocked. To the right, there is a single-storey service bay that features a 2-light casement and is likely an addition. The interior has not been inspected, but it probably includes a large central stack with back-to-back fireplaces.
