Description
Tanyard Farmhouse is a house, which was once a pair of cottages, dating from the mid-18th century. It features a red brick ground floor and is tile hung on the first floor, topped with a plain tiled roof. The building has two storeys and a garret, set on a plinth with a half-hipped roof. The hip ends have moulded cornices, and there are stacks on both the left and right sides.
On each floor, there are four 3-light wooden casements, along with two central 2-light casements on the first floor. The doors, which are two panels each, are located to the left and right, framed by moulded architraves and topped with flat hoods supported by brackets. At the rear, there is a catslide outshot with a 20th-century hipped wing. Several bricks are dated, with the earliest inscribed: G G 1766. Inside, there are large brick fireplaces and chamfered joists.
