Description
Styles Farmhouse is a house that dates from the 17th century or earlier. It features a timber frame and is weather boarded, with the ground floor clad in red brick, much of which has a 20th-century character, although some of it is likely 17th-century English Bond on the rear right elevation. The return elevations are tile hung, and the roof is plain tiled. The main range is two stories with a garret and has a gable end facing the roadside, topped with a half-hipped roof. To the right is a one-story and attic wing that includes a large dormer and a central stack cluster. There are outshots to the right of both wings. The main range has wooden casements on each floor, with leaded windows on the ground floor, and a two-light leaded window with mullions on the right return. The right-hand wing contains two wooden casements. The left return features a catslide outshot with skylights and two wooden casements on the ground floor. The main entry is through a 20th-century rib and stud door located at the rear of the right-hand wing.
