Barns/Stock Houses About 30 Metres North East Of Main Stable Block, Tongswood Farm

The barns and stock houses located about 30 metres north-east of the main stable block at Tongswood Farm date from the late 19th century. They are constructed with a timber frame and weatherboarding, resting on red brick bases, and feature plain tiled roofs. The central storage blocks have a triple gabled roof supported by large brackets, with round arched openings that are boarded in, flanked by carriage doors on both sides. To the right, there is a single-storey gabled block that projects outward, which has a boarded door on the ground floor. To the left, a one-storey and attic block is recessed, topped with an ogee-roofed cupola and a weather vane. This block includes a wooden casement window in the attic, along with boarded doors and paired wooden casements on the ground floor. These buildings are part of the model farm complex at Tongswood Home Farm.
