Description
Highgate House is a house, now used as offices, that dates from the mid 16th century and was altered in the 17th century. It features a timber frame and is tile hung on a red brick and rendered ground floor, topped with a plain tiled roof. The building has a lobby entry with a continuous jettied plan. It stands two storeys high with an attic, showcasing a continuous jetty, a moulded bressummer, and a half-hipped roof that has a large projecting gable on the centre left side, along with stacks at the end right and clustered to the centre left. There are two flat-roofed dormers and a casement window in the gable. The first floor has five metal casements, while the ground floor has four, including a bay window to the left. A slightly projecting brick porch is located at the centre left, featuring a 20th-century panelled door and sidelights.
