Description

This is a late 18th-century headstone made of freestone, located about 23 meters northwest of the tower of the Church of All Saints in Brenchley. The headstone is rectangular with scrolled corners, featuring carvings of flowers, foliage, and cherubs among clouds at the top. Below this decorative section, there is an oval panel inscribed to commemorate John Hanbury, who died in 1791.
