Description

The Duplow Monument is a chest tomb dating from around 1801, located approximately 3 metres south of the Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin in West Malling. The monument is set on three square steps, with the bottom step originally raised. It features a square sarcophagus that has a moulded plinth and recessed inscription panels. At the top, there is an elaborate urn with a gadrooned base, a Vitruvian scroll frieze, and end masks.
