Description
The coach house to Brome House is a late 18th century or early 19th century stabling structure that includes a central coach house, accommodation, and a dovecot. It is constructed from coursed stone blocks with stone galleting and features a tiled roof. The building has a 1:2:1 storey arrangement, with the central section topped by a gable. The main facade faces inward and includes dove-holes and a weathervane at the apex, along with arched windows in the gable. There is a central loading door on the first floor, flanked by arched leaded light windows and double doors. Each of the stabling ranges has a similar arched window and an arched doorcase with a wooden Gothick fanlight. The street-facing elevation features a central arched window on the first floor with wooden shutters and an arched window on the ground floor. Inside, the left-hand stable has two stall partitions, an early 19th century cast-iron fire surround with a duck's nest grate, and a roof that includes a ridge piece, staggered purlins, and collar beams.
