Description
Church House is a house from the early 18th century that was refronted in stucco in the early 19th century. It features a hipped roof, primarily tiled, with the front slope covered in slate and tall brick chimneystacks at each end. The building has two storeys, an attic, and a basement, with five windows. The attic includes two flat-roofed 19th-century dormers. There is a deep cornice with modillions and vermiculated quoins at the ends. The first floor has five early 19th-century 12-pane sash windows with graded voussoirs and reeded architraves, with the central window being vermiculated. A wide Tuscan porch leads to a broad early 19th-century door with six fielded panels and a rectangular fanlight above. The right side of the building has two hipped roof extensions. Inside, the left front room features a stone fireplace with a four-centred arch and panelling with a dado rail. There is also an 18th-century staircase with turned balusters reported.
