Description

127 High Street is a mid-19th century office building. It is constructed of brown brick with cemented dressings, and has a plaintiled roof with brick chimneystacks at each end. The building is two storeys high with an attic level, featuring three windows across the front. There are two hipped dormers with casements in the roof. The windows are mostly triple-sash with horns and cement lintels incorporating keystones; the first-floor centre window has paired sashes. A central doorcase features a wooden cornice, a cemented surround with console brackets, a six-fielded panelled door, and a fanlight. A plinth runs along the base. Attached to the right-hand side is a 20th-century cast-iron lamp in an antique style, set on a bracket. The building is included on the list for its group value.
