Description

The town pump, located opposite the Old Vicarage in West Malling, dates back to 1850. It features a cast-iron tapering square column that stands about 2 meters tall, topped with a gadrooned dome and an urn with an acorn finial. The sides of the column have panels, some of which are circular. There is a curved spout on the side facing the road. The pump was damaged and dismantled during the Second World War, and an inscription commemorates its reinstatement by the Royal Engineers in 1977.
