Description

The Honywood Monument, located approximately 20 metres south of the south aisle of the Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin in West Malling, is an elaborate chest tomb with an obelisk, dating from the mid-18th century. It features a two-stepped plinth that supports a curved sarcophagus on a moulded base, which is decorated with a blank shield flanked by willow fronds. The obelisk has a fluted band at its base. The inscription on the monument is partially illegible.
