Description
The garden wall of the Manor House dates from the 18th century and features 20th-century railings in front of the house. The central section consists of a low front wall made of red brick, topped with 20th-century cast-iron railings. There are two central red brick piers, each six feet high, which support stone globes. A 20th-century cast-iron gate with an overthrow is positioned between these piers. Flanking the central wall are two taller red brick piers, each twelve feet high, with stone copings. These piers are connected by higher red brick curving walls that lead to the facade of the house. The central ornamental wall is flanked by two stretches of random rubble stone wall, featuring red brick quoins and copings, both seven feet high. The left stretch is fifty yards long, while the right stretch is seventy yards long, with gatepiers leading into the garden at the left-hand end. All walls align with the road.
