Description
The hay barn, located about 20 meters north of Limes Farmhouse, is a structure from the 18th or 19th century. It features a framed construction that is clad with weatherboarding and topped with a corrugated iron roof. The barn is rectangular in shape and faces south, with doorways on opposite sides and a lean-to gabled roof at the rear.
The exterior is single-storey with a gabled roof. The south elevation is symmetrical, showcasing a large central doorway with 19th-century paired doors that have straphinges. On either side of the central doorway are smaller doorways, each with recessed plank doors.
While access to the interior was not possible during the survey, it is reported that original carpentry remains intact. A closer inspection of the interior could lead to a reassessment of the barn's dating.
This barn is part of a well-preserved farmstead group.
