Description
Nos 9 and 11 on Brook Lane are a pair of cottages that were originally a farmhouse, dating back to the 15th century, with later 18th and 19th century alterations. The cottages are timber-framed, and the left elevation features galletted random rubblestone, while the right is constructed of red brick, both adorned with red dressings and segment-heads on the ground floor. The roof is plain tiled, hipped to the left, and has a central ridge stack along with a stack at the left end. The buildings are two storeys high and have four slightly irregular casement windows. Each cottage has a boarded door located roughly in the center. This pair of cottages projects forward from Nos 13-15 to the right, revealing a jowled timber wall-post in the re-entrant angle.
