Description
The kitchen garden wall and The Bothy, located to the north of Mereworth Castle, is a Grade II listed structure. The kitchen garden wall is made of red brick and forms a complete rectangle, dating from the late 18th century on the inside of the wall to the east. The Bothy is a cottage built in the mid to late 19th century. It features a red brick ground floor and a rendered first floor, topped with a thatched roof that has a tiled catslide to the north. The building is two storeys high and includes first-floor lead cone-roofed turrets on brackets at the southeast and southwest corners. The windows are diamond lattice casements. In the northeast corner of the wall, there is a single-storey red brick gardener's cottage with a slate roof, which has two windows and a central boarded door.
