Description

The lodge on the east side of the drive to Mereworth Castle is an entrance lodge that dates from the mid-18th century. It has been relocated to the wrong side of Maidstone Road. The building is rendered and features a modillion eaves cornice beneath a slate roof. It has a gable end facing west, which includes a gable pediment and an oculus. The lodge is two storeys high and consists of three bays, with two bays facing the road. There is a projecting porch with a pediment on the north side. To the east of the lodge, there is a one-storey pavilion connected by a short screen wall, which matches the west lodge.
