Description

The building is an entrance lodge located on the west side of the drive to Mereworth Castle, dating from the mid-18th century. It is rendered and features a modillion eaves cornice beneath a slate roof. The lodge has a gable-end facing east, which includes a gable-pediment and an oculus. It is two storeys high with three bays, and there are sash windows in the two bays that face the road. A projecting pedimented porch is situated on the north side. To the east of the lodge, there is a one-storey pavilion that is connected by a short screen wall, and it matches the east lodge. The lodge has been relocated to the wrong side of Maidstone Road.
