Description
Nos 309 and 311 on Old Road are a pair of 18th-century cottages. They are constructed of random stone with red brick dressings on the ground floor, while the upper part is weather-boarded. The cottages have a gabled roof covered with plain tiles, featuring a central ridge stack and a catslide roof at the rear. The building is two storeys high and has a four-window front. The windows are 19th-century casements, and there are two boarded doors with tiled hoods. These cottages are noted as a good example of modest, traditional regional domestic architecture.
