Description

Nos 55 and 57 on Queen Street are a pair of cottages dating from the 18th century. They are constructed with a timber frame and plastered exterior, topped with a red plain tiled roof and featuring a central chimney stack. The cottages are two storeys high and have a two-window range of small paned casements. There are two six-panel doors; the door on the right has a simple surround, while the left door has a fluted surround with a frieze and a flat canopy. The attic space was used as an apprentices' loft in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
