Description

No. 22 Smithers Lane is an 18th-century cottage. The ground floor features painted weather-boarding with a rendered plinth, while the first floor is tile-hung. The roof has moulded eaves and is plain tiled, with a half-hipped design on the west side and a gable with an end stack on the east. There is a catslide roof at the rear and a roughcast finish on the east return front. The cottage is two storeys high and has two windows with casements, plus a small light added to the extreme left on both floors. A central doorway is topped with a flat hood supported by brackets. This building is noted as a good example of a modest domestic structure of traditional regional style.
