Description

This early 19th-century house, Claremont Cottage, is constructed of red brick with moulded eaves. It has a cornice with coupled brackets supporting a hipped slate roof. The house is three storeys high with a basement, featuring an area and a four-window facade. It has sash windows with glazing bars. A central entrance is approached by seven steps leading to a half-glazed and panelled door with a fanlight above. A decorative rainwater head is present. The area is enclosed by iron railings featuring acanthus and umbrella spear heads, along with lamp bracket standards flanking the foot of the steps.
