Description

Hedgehogs is a 16th-century farmhouse, later converted into a house, with extensions added in the 19th and 20th centuries. The house is timber-framed, featuring a gable end facing the road. The south front is painted brick, with some exposed timber framing visible on the ground floor. Above, there is exposed framing with plaster infill, and a jettied gable with a projecting chimney breast on the right. The house has two storeys and a garret, with a central window on each floor and smaller flanking windows, which occupy the entire width of the gable end on both floors. A small window is located in the garret. The windows are wooden mullioned casements with diamond lattices. The west front has a painted brick ground floor and weather-boarded first floor, with some exposed timber framing on the ground floor towards the right. The first floor has an irregular two-window frontage, the ground floor three with one window in a projection to the right; all windows are casements. A 20th-century catslide extension to the rear includes an entrance with a semi-dormer over it.
