Description
Oldbury Hall is a farmhouse that dates back to the late 15th century, with later additions at the rear. The building features exposed timber-framing with curved wind-bracing and plaster infilling. It has first-floor jetties on both the right and left, supported by exposed joists and timber brackets. The centre has overhanging eaves with a plaster soffit that contains small windows, all beneath a steep hipped roof covered in plain tiles. There is an off-centre brick ridge on the left. The house has two storeys with an irregular arrangement of windows, including four on the first floor and five on the ground floor, all of which are 19th-century casements. A modern vertically-panelled door is located off-centre to the right. The rear of the building and a 19th-century extension to the left of the front are roughcast. Inside, the drawing-room features a moulded dais beam with crenellated cresting, a fireplace with a chamfered bressumer, and two plain crown-posts along with a moulded crown-post on a combined and arch-braced tie-beam in the roof.
