Description

Butcher's Cottage is a 17th-century cottage located on the east return front to the road and the south front. The building features a red and grey brick ground floor with a tile-hung first floor. It has a plain tiled roof that is half-hipped to the left and hipped to the right, with a ridge stack on the left side. The cottage is two storeys high and consists of three bays with casement windows. To the left, there is a lower two-storey addition, and to the right, a one-storey lean-to addition creates a catslide on the east side. There is a porch to the right of the east extension and a two-storey hipped-roofed extension to the north at the back. Butcher's Cottage is included as a good example of a modest domestic building of traditional regional type.
