Description

The Old Post Office is an 18th-century house with a circa 1830 extension on the south side. The right-hand section, dating from the 18th century, is constructed of red brick and features a tiled roof. It has one modern hipped dormer on the left and a chimney stack on the right. The building is two storeys high with an attic and has two windows, which are 19th-century casements on the first floor. The ground floor includes a shop front that projects on either side of the entrance, which is flanked by slim pilaster strips. The circa 1830 section on the left is made of red and grey brick and also has a tiled hipped roof. This part is two storeys high with two sash windows and a panelled door to the right. There is an arched doorway with a flat sloping hood above a fanlight.
