Description

Parsonage House is a house dating from the 16th century, which was partly rebuilt and enlarged in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of red brick, with the 16th-century sections in English Bond, and features a plain tiled roof. The main range is two storeys high with a hipped roof and has four gables, with the two central gables projecting. From left to right, the gables are two storeys, three storeys, two storeys, and three storeys, with all but the centre right gable being from the 19th century. There is a plinth and a moulded plat band on the centre-right gable, which originally housed the entrance porch. The house has stacks at the left end, right end, and rear right.

On the first floor, there are five wooden casement windows, while the ground floor has three and each of the three-storey gables has one. The left projecting gable features a 17th-century moulded door, and the right projecting gable has a 16th-century chamfered four-centred arched doorway with a label. The original door consists of nine ribbed and studded panels within a moulded surround, topped with a clover-leafed finial on the large handle or knocker, and has strap hinges. Inside, there are fine moulded ceiling joists, an inserted four-flight dog-leg staircase with an early 17th-century turned baluster pattern, and a clasped purlin roof.
