Description

This is a group of three chest tombs located about 5 to 15 metres south of the chancel of the Church of St. Laurence. The tombs commemorate Edward Daniell, who died in 1811, and his family. The first tomb is railed and features a moulded base with a moulded plinth, recessed and reeded quarter column piers, and raised and fielded side panels with chamfered corners. It has a cornice on the moulded top slab, along with pike head rails and urn finial principals.

The second chest tomb, located about 5 metres east of the first, dates from the mid-18th century. It has a moulded plinth with baluster corner piers, raised and fielded side panels, and a moulded inscribed top slab that bears arms, though the inscription is mostly illegible.

The third tomb, which is a railed chest tomb dedicated to Ann (who died in 1822), is situated about 10 metres east of the second. It features a simple chamfered plinth with reeded corner piers, beaded side panels with chamfered corners, and a moulded top slab. This tomb also has spear head rails with banded orb finial principals.
