Description

The granary, located about 3 metres north of Monkton Court, is a 16th-century structure that now serves as an outhouse. It features a timber frame and is weatherboarded, sitting on a red brick base, with a plain tiled roof that has a hipped design and gablets. Inside, there are two framed bays supported by a central tie beam on jowled posts, with arched bracing connecting the tie to the posts and from the corner posts to the wall plate. The roof is constructed with clasped purlins and may have been reconstructed from 15th-century domestic timbers.
