Description
This is a terrace row of three buildings, numbers 3, 4, and 5, with a railed area, dating from the 1860s. The buildings are rendered and have a slate roof. They have four storeys, an attic, and a basement, with a rusticated base. Moulded string courses, quoins to the right end, and a modillion eaves cornice are present. Chimneys are located at the left end, centre right, and rear right. Flat-roofed dormers are on the right end (number 5).
Each of the three buildings has three bays, for a total of nine bays. The third floor features sashes in moulded surrounds. The second floor has sashes with brackets and bracketed cornices, with pediments to the central windows of the left-hand and right-hand buildings. The central windows of number 3 have balconies at both the third and second floor levels, with French windows. A continuous tented verandah with trellised piers and scrolled rails runs along the first floor. The ground floor has two sashes to the left, a central canted bay with a tripartite sash, and three sashes to the right, along with basement windows. Two half-glazed doors are centrally located to the left, within recessed doorways with ramped walls leading to the steps.
The right return features two full-height canted bays with central single sashes, incorporating details from the main elevation, including segmental and triangular pedimented windows on the second and first floors; the central window on the second floor is enriched. A central half-glazed door is also present. Spear-headed rails enclose the entire basement area.
