Description

Elmwood Farmhouse is a 16th-century timber-framed building located on the southeast side of Elmwood Avenue in Reading Street. It features an overhanging first floor and stands two storeys tall. The first floor is completely plastered, while the ground floor has flint infilling that is whitewashed. There are seven sash windows with intact glazing bars, including two small bay windows and one additional window on the ground floor beneath the overhang. The east end of the farmhouse dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century and is also two storeys high, with one sash window that has intact glazing bars. The west elevation has undergone significant alterations, now featuring four casement windows and one sash window with intact glazing bars, along with a central gabled extension.
